چکیده

This case study focuses upon the transitional experiences of disaffected learners as they progress from secondary to tertiary education. It seeks to identify the both the positive factors and those that caused difficulties, and recommend ways of improving these for learners in order to encourage them in becoming agents within the process. Through analysis of focus group interviews, the study makes an attempt to scratch the ‘surface structure of illusions’ within further education which impinges upon the transition event as a whole and showcase why transitions can be less than smooth for learners.
